The airline revealed that this complimentary, “quick and reliable” wifi service through SpaceX will be accessible to customers flying coach, premium economy, and premium cabins from next month.
Broad Rollout Over Multiple Flight Operators
The umbrella organization of the airline, International Airlines Group, confirmed it had finalized an partnership with the satellite firm to provide connectivity services for over 500 aircraft within the group's carriers, such as Aer Lingus, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.
Uninterrupted Internet from Gate through Landing
The airline noted that this rollout of the service was included in a seven billion pound “upgrade” initiative that will offer lag-free connectivity service to passengers starting at the gate through landing, including when in flight over large bodies of water or isolated areas.
