Man Utd Manager Ruben Amorim States He Can't Run From Poor Results
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim experiences the strain during the 3-1 loss at opponents
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim acknowledges he is unable to ignore from his disappointing statistics and says it is expected that club legends are questioning him.
Recently, the club's all-time goalscorer Wayne Rooney stated on his program that "the soul has gone" from his former team.
Amorim has achieved just eighteen victories from his 49 games in control, featuring nine out of thirty-three in the Premier League, where he has still to secure back-to-back successive victories.
Although high-level club sources are adamant that the INEOS chief continues to be behind Amorim, an inability to defeat recently promoted Sunderland on Saturday will spark fresh speculation about his position heading into the upcoming fortnight pause in domestic football.
"It is understandable," stated the Portuguese manager, when questioned about the former striker's remarks. "One cannot hide from the performance."
"Additionally you have the legacy from the previous campaign, [although] that period for me is in the past."
Fan Response and Present Situation
Manchester United's followers stayed supportive of Amorim following last season's poor showing, when they ended up fifteenth in the table - their lowest showing since the 1973-74 relegation campaign - and were defeated in the European showpiece, in the hope that this season would be substantially better.
The manager promised supporters the situation would change because he had more time to work with his team without the weekly commitment of European competition.
However is not how the opening six fixtures have developed as United have endured three defeats already and find themselves 14th in the standings.
Manager's Response to Concerns
When asked what guarantees he could give followers that the position will get better, the manager continued: "It's not the moment to speak, it is the moment to show."
"Personally review the matches in the current campaign and, for me, they are completely different, but I have nothing to say at present."
