The New England Patriots matched their longest winning run since the Tom Brady era as they defeated AFC East rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three TDs as the New England squad notched an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the team in 2019

Signal-caller Maye accumulated 281 yards and a score, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The win extends the New England's advantage at the summit of the division as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York at the foot after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had taken the lead at Foxborough with quarterback Fields scoring a five-yard touchdown to finish the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as the rookie scored two short rushing scores before the running back hauled in a throw from Maye at the rear of the end zone halfway into the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields threw to Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the home side sealed the win
